TV Programmes: Ones To Watch

Today

Sally bids Alf and Summer Bay farewell.

Home and Away

Five 6:00pm - 6:30pm

It's the end of an era in this visit as Sally Fletcher, who has made Summer Bay her home for more than 20 years, finally escapes its sun-drenched shores and leaves for pastures new. There probably won't be a dry eye in the house after her brother Miles persuades her to go, despite the burglary, so have those tissues on standby. Plus, in a vindictive move, Sam reveals all of husband Jack's indiscretions to his boss.
Viv finds herself in the frame for fraud.

Emmerdale: Denial

ITV 1 7:00pm - 8:00pm

When Donna joined the police force, she knew there might be a bit of awkwardness due to the fact she'd married into one of Yorkshire's dodgiest clans. However, for once it's not the Dingles who are the talk of the station, but her own mother Viv. In this edition, the young copper decides to clear her mum's name and recruits Ross to help her track down the mysterious Freddie. They trace him to an empty house, but once they arrive, they are shocked to discover unopened bills addressed to Viv.
Hosts Adrian Chiles and Christine Bleakley.

The ONE Show

BBC 1 7:00pm - 7:30pm

There's no denying Adrian Chiles' infectious enthusiasm is a welcome contrast to some of the dour presenters we have inflicted upon us. After success on Business Lunch and Match of The Day 2, Chiles was offered the job of co-hosting The One Show with Christine Bleakley, and the rest, as they say, is history. The show's topical reports on a wide range of subjects have made it one of the most watched programmes on the channel, so no matter what floats your boat, there's something here for you.
James Corden gets a mouthful from Gordon Ramsay.

Gordon Ramsay's F Word

Channel 4 9:00pm - 10:00pm

The fiery chef returns for a new series of the food magazine show, but a few things have changed, including the kitchen. Gordon will still be rustling up a three-course meal for 50 people, but this time he'll be working with celebrities and their families. First to brave the chef's famous temper is former Coronation Street actress Wendi Peters, followed by Gavin and Stacey star James Corden. Geri Halliwell takes on Ramsay in a battle to produce the best Spanish meatballs.
Carmel discusses her experience of abortion.

Abortion: The Choice

BBC 2 9:00pm - 10:00pm

This documentary is sure to generate more controversy than most, as it explores the issue of abortion. However, the women actually making the choice rarely get a chance to put their views across. In this powerful film, some get that opportunity. Through their candid testimony, the documentary explores five women's experiences of having a termination in contemporary Britain. As they tell their poignant stories, it is clear that there is nothing black and white about this subject.
Madonna performs at Radio 1's Big Weekend.

Madonna R1 Big Weekend

BBC 1 10:35pm - 11:15pm

She's the Material Girl who became the Queen of Pop and somehow, a British national treasure. Now the US songbird repays her millions of fans in her adopted country with a headlining performance as part of Radio 1's Big Weekend. Here, DJ Jo Whiley interviews her and presents her exclusive performance from the main stage at Mote Park in Maidstone, Kent. This Madonna special features exclusive performances of her chart-topping single, 4 Minutes, as well as songs from her new album, Hard Candy.
Margi Clarke guest stars as Gavin's mum Dorothy.

Benidorm

ITV 1 10:35pm - 11:05pm

This penultimate episode takes cringe-inducing comedy to a whole new level. Martin is worried as Kate has checked out and taken her suitcase, although he thinks she may have popped to the shops. Gavin's mother Dorothy (Margi Clarke) turns up unexpectedly but doesn't stay around very long. Jack, Janice's admirer, also turns up and outstays his welcome.
Vincent D'Onofrio heads the cast.

Law & Order: Criminal Intent

Five 11:00pm - 12:00am

When a respected education adviser is found washed up on the banks of the East River, Goren and Eames soon uncover the victim's huge gambling debts and conclude he'd been on a gaming boat before he died. When it turns out his latest flutter at the table left him in debt to the sum of $500,000, it begins to look increasingly likely that he killed himself. However, some new evidence leads Goren to suspect there is more to the case than meets the eye.
