TV Programmes: Ones To Watch

Tomorrow

Can Angela Rippon help raise money for charity?

Cash in the Celebrity Attic

BBC 2 5:15pm - 6:00pm

If you haven't seen the original daytime programme, it sees a group of experts descending on someone's home to find out if any of their excess clutter could be worth a few bob. Anything deemed valuable is then sold at auction. The same principle applies in this more star-studded version, as Angela Rippon and team meet author and yachtswoman Clare Francis. They search her home for antiques and collectibles that could potentially make money at auction.
Peter Snow gets animated about mobiles.

Brits Who Made the Modern World

Five 7:30pm - 8:00pm

This intriguing documentary series sees Peter Snow going in search of Britain's unsung scientific and engineering heroes, those people who are behind inventions we now take for granted, but whose names most of us have probably never heard. This latest instalment takes a look at the rise of mobile phones in Britain, and those people who made it possible. It examines their evolution from inconvenient, brick-sized devices before developing into the sleek gadgets we know today.
Molly ponders life as the future Mrs Dobbs.

Coronation Street

ITV 1 8:30pm - 9:00pm

Molly and Tyrone's attempts to get engaged have been beset by problems, but in the final visit of the week, the shop assistant decides to speed things along. Meanwhile, birthday boy Chesney can't believe his eyes when he opens the door to find a new bike has been delivered. However, Fiz's blood runs cold when she realises it's a gift from John Stape. When she tracks down her cheating ex and tells him she never wants to speak to him again, he claims he loves her and wants to turn back the clock.
The grand final, with shouty chefs John and Gregg.

Celebrity Masterchef

BBC 1 8:30pm - 9:00pm

Last week saw the eight remaining contestants whittled down to four in two semi-final heats. The first four celebrities had their work cut out for them as they catered en masse for 600 bricklayers, while the second four had to cook a two-course meal for restaurant critics Charles Campion, Kate Spicer and Jay Rayner. But who's made it to this grand final, and what challenges Messrs Torode and Wallace have in store for the final bunch?
Hats off to one of the funniest men on the box.

The Kevin Bishop Show

Channel 4 10:00pm - 10:35pm

From the team behind the award-winning Star Stories comes this new series, originally part of the 25th Anniversary Comedy Showcase series 2007. Playing to Kevin's strengths as a comedy actor and superb mimic, this is a show that takes great pleasure in spoofing at breakneck speed the world of TV, film and popular culture. Each of the six episodes will offer a rollercoaster of over 40 sketches in a bid to make light of all that is called 'celebrity'.

Saturday 26th July

Colin Murray presents the action.

Live Football

Five 3:20pm - 5:45pm

The weight of expectation will once again be on Manchester City as they warm up for another tough season in the Premiership. New manager Mark Hughes will be hoping to stamp his influence on the team and satisfy owner Thaksin Shinawatra, who unceremoniously sacked his predecessor Sven-Goran Eriksson at the end of last season. For once, Sven can think he was badly done to, and Hughes will have to prove himself if he's to avoid a similar fate next May.
Presenter Noel Edmonds.

Deal or No Deal

Channel 4 4:00pm - 4:45pm

For those who haven't seen Deal or No Deal, the concept is simple. A group of 22 contestants clutch sealed boxes containing various sums of money. One contestant is picked at random they proceed to ask their colleagues to open their boxes and find out how much they contain. Ideally, the person in the hot seat wants to dispense with the small amounts first, hopefully leaving themselves with the top prize, but a constant interruption comes in the form of The Banker. Noel Edmonds hosts.
